If this seems like a weirdly blase attitude towards risk, Peter told blogger Philipp Markolin that he “is a mountain climber where sometimes there is a 5% chance to die, and the stakes are just not that high for a debate.” lfmao fucking based This sounds a lot like the stuff SBF said. Please remember that if you instead invest those 5 dollars into an index fund with, say, 10% annualized returns, then in 20 years you will be able to retire, with over 33 dollars

I don't know much about the company but "One could imagine a computer which, instead of suppressing the natural entropy of the world, achieves symbiosis with it, leveraging it as an asset" does sound a lot like crystal healing for men

Re: It's Videogames

note that this is ONLY possible because they weren't scared to give mages frankly bizarre gameplay, with ridiculous gigantic casting times for the most powerful spells, which let them in turn give the spells huge and spectacular effects. Almost no other games have the balls to do this, which is why ...

Dragon's Dogma 1 is, to this day, my go-to game for recommending to anyone who wants a satisfying experience as a mage in a game. Literally have never seen a better execution (I guess maybe heavily modded Skyrim). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZBPiWugES0 I do fully expect DD2 to be even better at...

Re: It's Videogames

The only real complaint is performance tbh, and it's mostly valid. A lot of people who don't play games are jumping on this microtransaction bandwagon that is a laughably dumb argument, implying that the game was designed around the microtransactions. These types of purchases have been in Capcom ga...

Re: generated stuff

Yeah I should look up some tutorials on prompting, unfortunately you can't check the prompts for songs other people made.

Rise of the Hero is a cool one, though, and seems very complex. I'd be surprised if the AI could manage all that.

Okay you might be right, mood nonsense seems maybe better for prompting than specifics about BPM and instruments.

Re: generated stuff

I'm down to my last prompt for today but I'll give that a try! I added "powerful" and "exciting", so prompt is "outrun, synthwave, high speed chase, 80s, night, exciting, powerful". Let's see what we get.

hey it kind of got it. it just didn't know to kick it into gear I tried "outrun synthwave, high energy, 120 BPM, driving bass, synthesizer, electric guitar", and got some better results. I'm a little bit fond of this one , I think the melody is quite bizarre and I'm not fully into it, but...

never heard of it... just prompting "outrun synthwave" got me this, which is nothing special. I could probably get better results if I knew how to prompt better, like tell it what kind of tempo or instruments I want in it.

AI-generated music is now a real thing! It's shockingly good. Not quite as good as the best human-made music, but still insanely good. As in, not just "interesting", but stuff I actively want to listen to. Couple of songs from my playlist: Neon Skies (progressive house, folktronica): https...
