I watched all of Three Body Problem and it was good, but I've never read the books so my assessment isn't based on whether it was well-adapted
I was surprised though at the rather non-climactic ending, bordering on "We don't know how to end a season of television"

There's probably a better version without the video uploader chiming in kind of uselessly over and over, but I haven't found it yet

Aha, sitting there watching TV, I suddenly realized why "woke" is such a useful term Suppose you decide you're not going to hire any Marxists. You see the problem right away, right? You don't know who's a Marxist. What are you going to do, create some kind of test? You're not going to do t...

Also, he's so fucking stupid that he couldn't figure out that he shouldn't have run for president

I found this hilarious also, but this is purely a joke
2x - 6 = 10
Subtract 6 from both sides
2x = 4
Multiply both sides by 2
x = 8

196 - 182 x 0.5 = 7!! Can't believe you guys didn't like this I don't really get it I've seen a troll along these lines that's something like "Most people don't realize that 230 - 220 x 0.5 = 5!" but that one works because it's actually correct despite looking wrong I don't think yours is...

I saw another video about Tenet and this guy points out that when Pria tells our protagonists that she has a contact in the intelligence service, they then jump over the wall and escape. If you used a time machine to visit the age of dinosaurs, you would die in minutes upon arriving. The oxygen content of the atmosphere was fine for dinosaurs but too low for humans. We can only breathe in a narrow range from around 18 percent to 24 percent or so. The dinosaurs were fine with the 15 ...

I don't think "most of the time is spent on Arrakis" should be a sentence, like, I saw Casablanca and the entire movie stayed on Earth the whole time the point is that "whoa isn't this cool and atmospheric" needs more variety (of atmospheres) to work - if you spend too long in t...

Re: The Motion Picture Arts Thread
There's an interesting thing in adaptations where the director says, I need someone to say a certain line, and then doesn't necessarily give the line to the person who had it, or would have had it. For example, Peter Jackson wanted Aragorn and Gandalf to speculate about whether Frodo was still alive...
