theres something to be said for traditional drafts being unranked.

maybe? i wouldn't assume premier drafters are any better.

in fact i might assume the opposite since the payout is less top-heavy

after playing a bunch in both, traditional draft is definitely softer if you are at platinum rank or higher.

that said, i guess i dont know if they set up draft tables based on rank or just chronologically in premier.

the draft table is first-come-first-serve, but the parings are partially by rating i think

i would assume traditional is based off your record then? or maybe you have a hidden rating? that would make sense

Traditional is based purely off your record.

This is also strong evidence of the draft tables being first come first serve lol

i wouldnt play skimmer in that deck, i don't think?

if you're playing tutelage you must play read the tides

havoc jest is good, play it!

crash through is amazing with your weird and prowess dude. also fine with tutelage

arcanist seems good with double slag and read the tides, seems much better than hobblefiend

the crab might be better than the ogre here

With Teferi's Tutelage I would play Crash Through I think. That is the only card I haven't gotten to draft that I really want to. That and Scourge of One-Sided Pandemonium.

On the other hand once someone played it turn 3 and 4 against me, so that was fun*!

I don't mind Tideskimmer with a couple fliers and a Glidemaster. 2/3 is a big enough body in the air to usually matter, and the upside is tremendous. Also, Tutelage.

Ask and ye shall receive: I first picked Jorael, got passed a Teferi's Tutelage, and got the Lorescale p3p7. I need some cuts here!!

cut miscast, denial, growth, inventory, insight, guile, and a couple of your four mana 2/3's. and maybe a spinner

Took this to 2-1, though losing round 2 was just a huge punt on my part. I sided in Miscast to combat Feat of Resistance, and then just didn't play my island and cast the definitive blocker only to see it Canceled, with an island and Miscast staring at me from my hand. I don't know why I ever wait to play my lands, I feel like I just always get punished by it.

On the other hand game 3 round 3 I got to curve out turn 3 turn 4 on blue global enchantments. That was pretty fun. And I opened a Teferi, a See the truth, a Heroic Intervention, and a white card for my rares! Three for four on constructed playables isn't bad at all :robot:

I strongly disagree with cutting Guile here, by the way. This deck wins by putting pants on a Coatl or an Oak, and if they answer that you're kind of up a creek if you didn't already have Jolrael or Tutelage. I kinda wanted another, protecting your creature seems that important.

Shrine would prooobably better than Insight but Insight did some pretty dumb things, it's hard to say. And there was no way I wasn't trying it out, in the most perfect deck.

siding in miscast against UW does not seem right

guile seems better as a sideboard cause because you don't have a enough dudes

i tried to avoid GR again but then the cat tribal was too tempting. not sure what to cut here

Image

im thinking a porticullis and furor... and then i guess two of titanic growth, snare spinner, or dilophosaur.

edit: actually i think i need to keep both vines for my maulers. so i guess cut the other four

Need a couple cuts. I think the deck can do some interesting things, though I'm very worried I don't have enough lifegain. Maybe I should be playing Nine Lives, it buys a couple turns for more Patrician triggers?
