@arti - How do I make "learn from my mistakes" appear below my avatar?Crunchums wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 4:06 am i have been playing chess again, and like actually trying to study
taking screenshots of my rating makes me feel less bad when the number goes down
it's a great game for feeling like an idiot
good job spending ~10 minutes getting a totally won position, and then throwing it away, you idiot ([you] = me; i am the idiot)

Re: chess
my dad is an avid chess man and he's been trying out some variant formats for the first time lately
watched him play a round of this thing
the massive horde of pawns is very funny to me visually

nice job on the centipawn loss
Re: chess
i was playing vs the computer at 1700 with unlimited time and i beat it twice in a row and it's like huh, all i have to do is not blunder and i can climb to 1700? and since then i have been doing well at blitz
edit: i won 2 more
up to 1522
u gotta skate
Re: chess
If you don't blunder you will get to 1700. I'm usually around 1600-1650 in 5-minute blitz, and almost every game ends with someone not noticing a hanging piece, or missing a simple knight fork.

i really like this guy's channel. he's been posting a lot of "training games" recently. very cathartic to watch someone who has a goal of making GM consistently play games like: doesn't remember the opening theory -> is unsure about what he is supposed to be doing -> get into time trouble and inevitably blunder something obvious
