+20 is a funny implementation of the mechanic
very splashy looking, but theres not actually that much you can do with 20 loyalty counters

I also really don't like repeatable DT effects in limited. The first DT buys you the time to tick your walker back up and go again and it's just this slow inexorable grind out. DT effects are just so much more powerful than things like Birthing Pod, Fauna Shaman, MT, etc. Having so many valid targets for each search also slows down the game as people spend longer thinking about what to pick than for other tutor types.

well you have to protect him for a turn before you can dt. and then you can't do it again for another 5 turns. i dunno. he seems mostly like a phyrexian arena that you can pretty easily remove
if i made him 2BB i'd want him to start with the ability to DT immediately and die i think? jack thinks he's fine as is
maybe i could change the DT into a 5 card impulse or something since apparently that's black now

It's weird though because if I simplified it in my head like you did in this post I wouldn't feel that way. Maybe I'm weird but the X templating basically makes me feel forced to do the math problem in a particular, and annoying way. Imma attempt a different templating that might work better at least for my particular brain

i could also make it into a grim tutor (domes you for 3) which makes it way way worse but also way better with all my dumb fateful hour stuff. i might prefer that actually. better flavour!

How many Demonic cards are there right now? My deck has 3 of them: the Imp, Demon's Heart, and the 3rd-from-the-top tutor that can summon Griselbrand. Are there more?

Those changes all make a lot of sense to me! I think Gix's Planar Invasion may just still be overpowered, though, especially now that Planar Spy also isn't a terrible card, and there are other options for turning it on.

Also, I'd change "from outside the game" to "from your sideboard", because that's what you mean and there's no reason to obfuscate it. The "outside the game" phrasing is normally used to be inclusive to non-competitive Magic, so e.g. Fae of Wishes can fetch a card you own even if you're playing a casual game with no sideboards. But Gix's Planar Invasion is obviously not okay in any non-sideboard format.

the colour weight is NOT the thing that makes necromonger strong. if you're going to add colour weight to it, it should at least have a cost like 1BBB that actually means something. 2BB is nothing
