i dont think i said this anywhere except to ashenai so i wanna say that the spells with conditional transform-to-play riders are some of the coolest designs in the whole cube. they're a pleasure to look at and think about, and in my limited experience with actually playing them they seem to play pretty alright too!

... have you? i seems like straight card disadvantage each time you cast or dredge it, which is why i thought it was ok
i haven't but that's not what my deck does at all and i was playing it as a cycling bounce spell
ancient oak- hard for aggro to do anything against this card, and aggro is already weak i think

really? its not indestructible or anything. it seems way worse than hornet nest. you attack with some bears, and they can spend 4 to raise the alarm and gain 2
i think the difference between a one drop and a three drop is massive. There are a lot of three drops that are good against aggro-misfortune manifest, dralnu, tibalt's pyroclasm, even ambush piker kills a guy and trades with another guy.
demonic heart - probably should be costed higher, even a few activations of this is really good

sure. how much more? i have no idea
three or four i think? maybe a slight buff if it's cost at four, like choosing the number of counters it enters with so it's a removal spell the turn it comes down
k

djinn // tonic - UW instant for a 3/3 flyer is very cheap, even if you do need a creature in play. Like the darkness wizard it's not necessairly too strong but it outclasses some of the other creatures

yeah but having a 1 drop in U/W doesnt seem like a thing and each individual spell doesn't really deserve to be more than 1 mana. ill leave it for now
i don't think it's so powerful that it becomes unfun, but blue does have two solid one drops in floating eye (I) and the octopus that draws a card
whirlwinds - this is very very good if it hits

yeah but i think it's kinda hard to hit. have you hit with it a bunch?
I hit with it once but as a comparison, a card that is '1BB destroy target creature. If that creature was white and green draw two cards' is hard to hit with, but i don't think there's much reason to hose w/g creatures. Is there any reason to hose decks that play fliers and spells with a two mana instant 3 for 1?

ill up oak to 1G (edit and give it pro-menace), heart to 2B, planning on nerfing dralnu, already changed piker a little, planning on nerfing manifest, probably leave djinn and tonic and tornado for now

i'll redo whirlwind entirely i think, cause thats a good point

im thinking dralnu will have pro everything while bloodstone is unequipped

manifest can be a 1/1

Khaos I think the average board in this format is stone-cold incapable of beating The Great Wurm on-board and the only way to not lose to it is spot removal. Does this hold up with other people's experiences with The Great Wurm or am I operating from poor data/a bad matchup?

Greatwurm
5G
Segmented Creature (1) - Wurm
(Segmented creatures cannot attack or block unless all of their segments do so as well. When a segmented creature leaves the battlefield, sacrifice all of its segments higher on the chain.)
Ward 3
As Greatwurm enters the battlefield, create Greatwurm Segment (2) and Greatwurm Segment (3). They are segemented 2/2 green Wurm creature tokens.
Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt to Greatwurm and each of its segements, except the one highest on its chain.

the 4/4 changeling is kind of a jokey example of a simple-ish common but i do think that like, once you decide to replace a card wholesale you might as well go for a bottom-up hole filling design that gives the cube something it needs

i already have a name changing changeling card!

edit:

Facestealer
1B
Creature - Shapeshifter
Changeling
When Facestealer enters the battlefield, name a creature card. Facestealer's name changes to that name.
Facestealer can't be blocked if defending player controls a creature with the same name as it.

i made it a 3/3 too but you know what i think ill make it a 6 mana 5/3 or something so expel evil has something to nuke

i might replace it on all my cards too, except like, that XXBBB spell. edit: actually most of my hexproofs designs are such that you can get around the hexproof in someway anyway so nm

whirlwinds replacement

Hit and Run
UG
Sorcery
Target creature you control fights target creature you don't control. Then you may return the creature you control to its owner's hand. If it has deathtouch, put Hit and Run onto the battlefield transformed.
////
Assassin's Contract
(U/G) Artifact - Pact
1: Put a signature counter on Assassin's Contract.
Whenever a creature you don't control dies, if Assassin's Contract has exactly 1 signature counter on it, create a Treasure and you may draw a card.

4 dt's guys in the cube, plus 3 things that can sometimes get dt (istvan, chimera, kaladesh)

i kinda want it to tap for mana somehow for guildpact tome but whatever. also new card to go with new pacts

Cheeky Vandal
G
Creature - Shapeshifter
Changeling
When Cheeky Vandal enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless you put a signature counter on target artifact.

Just wanna add that you should not feel constrained to 360 cards total! I think cubes are more fun and replayable with more cards, when you don't know for sure exactly what'll be opened. The Arena cube has I think 550 cards in it.

(This is not a reason to add cards you don't feel are good enough, I'm just saying if you do have more good ideas, you don't necessarily always need to cut something for them!)

yeah but i think i wanna remove the most boring cards and balance it for 360, and then maybe we can repeat this exercise 10 years from now and add another 200 cards
