one thing about the passage of time is that people remember citizen kane and do not remember, e.g. 51 movies from the same franchise coming out in 7 years around the same time https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Three_Mesquiteers

At this point I would almost say that Nolan, Tarantino, Del Toro etc are themselves established works
