if you're a director of comic-book movies that suddenly has a reputation as an edgelord, that seems like just about the best way to channel it

It's even better when you think about how badly WB wanted Suicide Squad to be their GotG.

but, then, like, the actual Suicide Squad is pretty rad / had a good run in the comic books, and could be done really well? I'd rather Gunn got cast to do the Birds of Prey stuff. That would've been really great

it'd be kind of great if Shazam was a hit and then with Flashpoint (DC Rebooting its universe comic book style) they replaced Superman with Shazam (Not Captain Marvel, that's a different character), who's arguably more powerful? It's sort of hard to say because Superman is weak to magic, and Batson is Superman but magic, so

But I think for as bad and as underperforming as these DC movies are, they kind of do seem to have their fans. As already pointed out by rlm, Shazam, despite appearing infinitely more interesting and better looking than Aquaman, has much, much less views on youtube

It can be bad as long as it is also fun

How is DC so fucking dense about dark comic book movies?

(I've probably had this exact same rant here, but indulge me.)

Garish Robin is about fighting the bad grown ups as a kid! There's nothing YOU can't do! You're nimble and quick and on the side of JUUUUUSTICE.
Gritty Robin is about taking an orphan out to be shot. Everything is awful.

Also, it's not my fault I "Misinterpreted" the Teen Titans preview. Robin clearly killed those guys, that's the scene you portrayed. Sorry I didn't super slow mo to see that he shot the guy in the throat instead, and only dislocated the other guy's neck......
