The Motion Picture Arts Thread
Re: The Motion Picture Arts Thread
I want to see this so much, but it's only available in Europe. I'd have to get an all-region blu-ray player and buy it imported

I checked, I couldn't find it available for purchase on any of the digital platforms and it isn't streaming anywhere.
Article about what was a titanic effort to complete the restoration. I thought you might be interested.

I came across it on the high seas, if you don't mind a Napoleon movie of dubious provenance, grab it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1f4GzL3 ... sp=sharing

I thought Northman was outstanding, but you should go into it knowing it's Hamlet and not some action movie

Saw this tonight.
Completely bonkers. Tugs at the heart strings. Incredibly inventive. Michelle Yeoh was phenomenal.
I’m not certain if I liked it or not.

other than you i've watched two people talk about it, both with extremely different tastes in movies, and both loved it

To be clear, it's a well made movie and is good by just about any definition. I liked a lot of their character development and the choices they made in how information was shared.
Spoiler!
There are definitely parts that I thought were great, but taken as a whole it didn't quite work for me. I'm glad I saw it and I'd recommend seeing it. I probably wouldn't watch it again though.

Responding to something BB posted over at the other site.Bracketbot wrote: ↑Fri Apr 01, 2022 2:30 pm but mostly just the sea wall thing. it just didn’t make any sense and i feel like it was a way to make his arc more villainous.
They called Gotham Square Garden the retreat of last resort (or something similar). That's the place the Gotham's government retreats to, which gets them all in one place and makes them soft targets for the Riddler's henchmen. Plus, and this is just a guess, but I thought possibly that was also a set up for Batman: No Man's Land.

I saw the Death on the Nile remake. It was better than the previous one with Peter Ustinov, though not because of him

Okay you have convinced me to read it. Orient Express is one of my favorite books of all time, it's so good.
Re: The Motion Picture Arts Thread
I have never seen this trailer before, or this movie, and I find it hilarious the degree to which it's just, let's make 20,000 Leagues again
I guess the thing that really puts it over the top is the fact that Charles Bronson is in a striped shirt for some reason, just as Kirk Douglas is in a striped shirt in 20,000 Leagues, I mean that is so hilarious to me
Also how similar is this to War Gods of the Deep
