the smallbox moving picture with sound thread (telly vision)

Probably what *this* should be called.

So I'm halfway through season two of Rick and Morty and I've noticed a couple of things:

1. The house party at the end of season one appears to have been meant to set up future shenanigans.
2. There was a marked increase in writing quality from Season 1 to Season 2.

Yeah there are a couple of season one episodes that smack more of Family Guy or something

It's your turn in Squirrel Wars
It's your turn in Demon Wars

The episode where Rick, Morty, and Summer all got out of temporal sync was the first one that I thought was pathbreaking.

I wrapped up season 2 last night. It's decent, I'm going to finish it, but I don't think it is particularly great. It's certainly not as clever or well made as Archer. It's a study in nihilism and I just don't find that particularly appealing.

Rick is irresponsible because he's smart, while Archer is irresponsible because he's a big kid

That was one of my original complaints. Summer, Jerry, and Beth are all voiced by professionals. Rick and Morty are voiced by the show creator. He's not a particularly good voice actor.
