Probably what *this* should be called.

Also I started watching Reacher, I've seen the first two episodes and they were pretty good

It's kind of like what if Castle were about how Castle helped the lady cop but also beat the shit out of people

It's your turn in Squirrel Wars
It's your turn in Demon Wars

(kids tv)

finally tried out bluey which rawmeat had said was really good. it is! rawmeat had liked other kids tv that i really disliked so i didn't give this recommendation a go before

it's basically just this cute dog family playing imagination games with each other. it's actually inspiring to watch as a parent and it's cool that it makes my kid want to play imagination games
wow, [you]. that all sounds terrible. i hope it gets better for you

I don’t have a YouTube channel dedicated to reviewing old children’s media.

But there’s a trend.

You can’t write the Simpson’s if you identify with Lisa
You can’t write arrested development if you don’t understand that Michael is a blurb
And you can’t write futurama if you want good things to happen to zoidberg every episode.

That’s just stupid.

I started The Book of Boba Fett last night. I gotta say, I am really enjoying John Favreau's vision for small screen Star Wars.

Well clearly this is wrong. You can't actually write arrested development unless you absolutely despise the characters.

I admire them for trying a new thing. At least the body modification angle is interesting, even if the flashy rides look cheesy & out of place. Probably kind of the point, what would Mos Espa teens do? Rebel with ~colour~!

Just a bit too much reach for the mod scooter fad callback to land. Needed a solid Quadrophenia reference.

Bring on the kung-fu amputees - no arms vs. no legs anyone? A bit of high-speed underground ninja-tunneling is always good as well. I wanna see some shit like that. Crazy monks with gnarly special powers can make any film good. FACT.

It was all Quadrophenia. They were sharply dressed young people riding colorful scooters with excessive rear view mirrors. Compare the scooters and clothes:

The only time I've seen a direct Quadrophenia reference in a movie was in Four Rooms, where Tim Roth the bellboy comes into the penthouse suite, and one of the guys starts yelling "BELLBOY!" at him in a gruff accent

Yup.

The only thing I'm not certain about is whether the other biker gang was supposed to be Rockers.

Boba Fett backed by the Max Rebo band doing covers of classic The Who songs. But not the songs that got a lot of radio play. Deeps cuts. The kind you'd have to excavate from a wompa using a light saber.

Watched Arcane with ZOMG while we rode out Covid, good show.
ZOMG was incredulous at first - "this is nothing like LoL," he said deliriously at least twice

about midway through my brain deflated while commenting on something & I instead randomly muttered "hextech is stored in the balls,"
much to my own dismay
