the smallbox moving picture with sound thread (telly vision)

Probably what *this* should be called.

"Too horsey" is a tremendous complaint about a My Little Pony.

We want Applejack to be someone you root for from the beginning, so CAN we make her start out bad and fighting with Twilight?

I love (but really hate) the idea that a bunch of people at Corporate HQ think they're the ones who should decide what the show should be like instead of hiring a creative person along the lines of Lauren Faust or Noelle Stevenson and letting them do whatever the hell they want.

(I've been watching the new She-Ra and I think it's great, especially in comparison to the original)

ive been having super mixed feelings about the skip intro button on netflix lately. at first, it seemed like a purely good addition to viewing--all that time adds up, its not interesting, ive seen it a hundred times, etc. ive been forced to confront this view that i once thought could be written in stone.

ive been watching bosch on prime with my wife, and it has an absolute banger of an intro. sometimes i just want to groove out and watch some artistic shots that on a spectrum of relevance to the show. my wife just instinctively skips the intro, though. its such a bad feeling to have a song yanked out from under you when you are just getting into it. another reminder that every great innovation has its perils i suppose.

I dislike Skip Intro a lot, but not as much as the way Netflix skips closing credits if you don't press a button in time. I just want to watch the actual episodes, in order.

Kinda related, we were watching Chappelle's Show on Netflix and they left in the parts where he says tells says we're gonna go to commercial real quick and we'll be right back

My wife gets up and uses the restroom without pausing and is surprised when that she missed some when she gets back. Bitch we haven't watched a commercial in at least 5 years

I love Chappelle's stand-up, but I hadn't actually watched the show before. The black klansman sketchy was one of the funniest bits I've ever seen. "He's too important to the movement."

My kids get mad that if a show is auto playing, it skips the intro.

I'm also about to kill someone because I have to manually go in and change the audio setting before every show... even if I change them and then the next episode starts auto playing I have to change them back...

I can't remember too many shows where the intro is good for getting hype. Like TWD is/was good and GOT, and I'm ready to run through a wall after the Octonauts theme song, but thats about it.

New Girl is a terrible show, but that 2-second intro song is great.

Children's theme songs keep getting stuck in my head and so I use them as the kids lullabies. Gigantosaurus is good for that.

The idea of trying to tweak a cash grab (that turned put to be good in it's own right) to be more of a cash grab seems like a recipe for the worst show ever.

No, I think the worst recipe for a Ponies related show ever is likely Michael Neigh Presents MLP: Friendship is Explosives. Featuring gunner Tactical Sparkle, assassin Appleninjack, daring pilot Flutterhigh, private Commonality, Lt. Rainbow Crash, and team mascot Pinkie Pie.

Somebody told me that the pony show has anti-communist elements or themes. I couldn't tell whether the person was joking, and I've never seen it

We've been watching The Crown and I'm not sure it's possible to make it though that theme song without falling asleep, so thanks skip intro button.

It's actually pretty hard to make it through an actual episode of the Crown without getting sleepy.
