This is an extremely specific targeted ad; I have to assume they have some sort of data leading them to believe it's accurate (it's not) because you wouldn't just randomly guess at one region of one country during one two month period a year ago?

Australian National University history professor Bruce Scates is a proponent of "dialogical memorialisation", where things such as plaques are added to existing monuments to explain history from a modern perspective.

He said removing statues altogether "removed that opportunity for discussion", and suggested updating them with fuller historical accounts.

Yep.

From the SAPOL wiki entry - Criminal Investigation Officers are issued with the compact version of the semi-automatic pistol (M&Pc). Specialised units such as Special Tasks and Rescue (STAR Group) use other equipment suited to the nature of their duties. SA Police were among the last to carry revolvers as a duty weapon.

Absolutely. You basically only ever see ordinary cops with the one model of pistol, which for many Australians can be their only real exposure to firearms. I remember being with family in Turkey, where there are members of the police force open-carrying automatic weapons and having people find it rather strange.

A gun won't help you if you're attacked by an emu.

But yes, it is far from uncommon for actual farmers to have guns on their properties, although gun buyback policies have probably been responsible for some change in what type and amount of guns you'd find in on a farm today.
