I think the etiquette is not praying on other people's lawns without asking
I mean, I think it was nice of you not to interrupt him. But also, wtf?

they have to pray at exact times, soAshenai wrote: But also, wtf?

Oh, I didn't know that!
Re: this thread is for posting in
some people are strict about it. good on you for not interrupting him. it seems weird since he could just pray on the sidewalk or whatever? harder on the knees i guess
also i don't know if you know this but you're also not supposed to walk in front of muslims during prayer :themoreyouknow:

Re: this thread is for posting in
With the size of our sidewalks and the direction he was facing, I think he would have been blocking the whole thing to do it there, so being on the lawn makes sense to me.Khaos wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 2:49 pm some people are strict about it. good on you for not interrupting him. it seems weird since he could just pray on the sidewalk or whatever? harder on the knees i guess

well they could believe in a flat earth centered at mecca and be mostly fine
the closest population centre to the antipode of mecca is in french polynesia which does not have a significant muslim population afaik

Re: this thread is for posting in
you might wanna use cardboard instead of paper if you don't wanna fuck up your floors
or do what i did eventually!

Re: this thread is for posting in
i definitely want to get something to put them on top of - it's hard to pick them up off of the floor without lifting with my back (not good)
cardboard is a good idea for now, though. might also would be good to put under a weight stand, too
i'll probably just get one of these https://smile.amazon.com/s?k=weight+sta ... doa-p_1_12

I think you'd want something more like this https://www.ironmaster.com/products/sta ... dumbbells/ although that particular one is kind of custom-made for that company's adjustables
something like a nightstand might work if you don't care about damaging it

Re: this thread is for posting in
i would be concerned that a nightstand would not support 105 pounds
but yeah, i only have one pair
(i mean actually i have another pair, but they're not as heavy and they're not metal so probably if i put them on a metal stand it would dig into them and damage them)
so really i don't need a stand per se, just something table-like to put them on top of

Re: this thread is for posting in
yeah if you're still bending down to the floor to change the weights you're not really benefiting much from a standard dumbbell rack

I'm making a patio, it's pretty unpleasant so far
got the gravel down and compacted so just have to do the sand and stones now

Re: this thread is for posting in

Re: this thread is for posting in
its a patio!
Re: this thread is for posting in
leave it to a dad to be pedantic about a deck >:3
Re: this thread is for posting in
I think a deck has to be elevated off the ground

if my experience with chairs means anything, i bet they just sat there and watched haplo do all the work
wow, [you]. that all sounds terrible. i hope it gets better for you
Re: this thread is for posting in
it's me and my dad, I think he's done about 50% more work than me total. he wakes up at like 8am and heads out, I usually get out around 11
