Google makes everything worse

haplo, guinea pig for me:
Re: Google makes everything worse
i'm guessing thats just deleting the cookie, but i think youtube is looking for your device settings and not settings inside the cookie itself
Re: Google makes everything worse
i see another guy saying wiping the thing worked for him, though
"Clear out all YouTube related cookies and local storage. I did that and haven't had a problem since."

seems to have worked
Re: Google makes everything worse
Went to my friend the miner's house yesterday. His rig is significantly larger and more janky than when I last saw it. So many graphics cards.
Obviously the crash affected him, but he's a long hodl-er and this is literally his retirement plan so it didn't seem like he was emotionally or motivationally affected more than I would be if my retirement account took a big hit. He said it's a good buy opportunity if I wanted to get in and he's probably not wrong.
He did mention that some time before the crash he moved his stuff into 100% bitcoin. He explained that it's the only true decentralized crypto and he has lost faith in how Ethereum is being centrally managed. I didn't ask him for his opinion on NFTs and now I wish I did.

Re: Google makes everything worse
how much do they have
Re: Google makes everything worse
is that a fan or an air filter
Re: Google makes everything worse
either way that does not seem like a great air flow strategy
Re: Google makes everything worse
he has the correct shelf but you're supposed to zip tie gfx cards to it and use risers
Re: Google makes everything worse
Can you use pass throughs and put your rig in an actual fridge?
Re: Google makes everything worse
i dont think a fridge compressor is rated to be running 24/7
Re: Google makes everything worse
That entire arrangement makes me unreasonably irritated. I want to spam him with cable porn.

Re: Google makes everything worse
could you make like, a hardware device for mining bitcoin? like one thats better than a graphics card at it? or does economies of scale make that kind of thing not work
either rylinks or khaos will know this for sure

Re: Google makes everything worse
Yes, they make ASICs for this that are more efficient than graphics cards but I have no idea whether they make economic sense.
Re: Google makes everything worse
they cost lots of money and are probably even harder to get your hands on
but yeah they've existed for a long time

Re: Google makes everything worse
graphics cards don't mine bitcoin anymore but that's mostly academic as you could run that rig in a mining pool that determines the most effective thing to mine and then pays in bitcoin

that is how i find files alsoAshenai wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 10:24 pm I have gigantic hard drives with obsessively structured directories, but I still find myself interacting with them differently, mostly thanks to Everything. It's a searchability thing. Just like the most efficient way to use the web used to be memorizing URLs and now it's just googling up whatever you need, I used to rely on logically nested, meticulously named directories to find my stuff, and now I just type in whatever I need and it brings it up instantly. It's literally faster to use Everything's search than to navigate to the correct directory, even if I know exactly where it is.
wow, [you]. that all sounds terrible. i hope it gets better for you

i actually legitimately miss internet explorer.
the county i mostly practice in uses a website/program to archive electronic copies of court documents. you need a subscription to access it. it only works in internet explorer. if you use chrome or firefox, at least, to enter a case number, the dashes wont show up and it screws up the search function.
when internet explorer went away, i had to resort to using old computers we randomly had around the office to access the website/program. we recently discovered that microsoft edge has an "internet explorer mode" that i guess dumbs down your browser to avoid issues like the above.

Re: Google makes everything worse
spotify why do you only have deluxe versions of certain albums
if i want to listen to Aim and Ignite I want to press play and then listen to the songs that are on the album; i don't want to have to additionally go the the queue and remove deluxe songs
you even used to have functionality that would let you effectively make your own version of an album so that i could do things like press one button to listen to The Infamous without all of the tracks that aren't actually music. then you got rid of it
shame on you >: [
