I saw this video, it was like "10 horrifying anime" or something like that. It got to an anime called "Mononoke."
The art style in the clip I saw was fascinating -- it looked like Yellow Submarine

The art style is really cool

Man, it's been over 20 years since I've seen an episode of Sailor Moon, and this video still managed to touch me.

Re: Shiny New Anime Thread
I watched Itai no wa Iya nano de Bogyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu (I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense) aka Bofuri
Bofuri boldly dares to ask the question: What if Sword Art Online didn't suck shit?
Okay it totally doesn't actually do that. If thats what you wanted you can go watch Log Horizon or something! Bofuri is an MMO anime, but unlike SAO and Log Horizon it's just about normal people playing a normal videogame. This owns! Instead of worrying about why we're ~trapped in the system~ or speculating as to its enigmatatic purpose the Bofuri cast get right down to what's important: playing some fucken vidya games with your buddies. The main character is a new player who stumbles into an incredibly overpowered gimmick build in the the full-sim VRMMO her best friend has invited her to play. She then procedes to explore the world, make a bunch of friends and snowball her character build into higher levels of nonsense, before partaking in the second-most engaging pursuit any MMO has to offer, ranked PvP.
This anime is in a word, comfy. A pile of it is spent just goofing around in the world exploring and doing quests and then all the drama in the show is like, friendly contests between fellow game players. The main character is constantly inviting the people she fights around for meals and waving hi to them as she sees them in town. I'm pretty sure every named opponent in the show eats a cake with this girl at some point. It's an extremely powerous thematic choice and feels way more resonant with actual mmos than any of the other shows i've seen doing stuff in this space
im not sure what the point of writing a pseudo-review like this is as safers already seen it and its probably not sufficiently up the alley of any of our other weeaboos really. guess I just miss Locus.
anyway a warm thank to forums idiot rylinsk for putting me onto 'show about getting hit in the head by a rabbit'

Re: Shiny New Anime Thread
It seems maybe interesting to me! I haven't seen SAO but I did watch a decent amount of .hack//Sign way back when, and I remember thinking it would have been neat if that was a good anime.
