yeah. what did doug do to us
i actually thought that that looked really good. i guess the show isn't, like, well ... realized in just stills, screenshots

I don't think it was a dumb debate! I like talking about stuff like this, I think it helps people understand each other if they are made to define their terms properly.

predation as a metaphor for paraphillia and marginalised sexualities is way more compelling to me than the racism thing.
As the series' greatest philosopher put it: "As long as instincts exist, everyone has to make it through life by hurting themselves and others."
I don't think it's just paraphilia, although there are obvious parallels there. It's about how to be true to yourself when greed and selfishness and anger and darkness is also a part of who you truly are.

Yeah, so, just finished Beastars. It's excellent. It's a very remarkable series, goes places I didn't think it would dare, and pulls it off brilliantly.
(Mild spoilers follow.)

Making the fang flesh-colored is a weird choice that I am not down with, though.

the skinny is that breasts catches a "friend" from high school experiencing college alone. it isn't until the second year of him doing literally nothing that she finally steps in to, you know, make his life suck a little less, give him some companionship, which is a noble effort, but she's kind of obnoxious, but then that's her charm. introvert vs extrovert. a conflict as old as time. and then there's some gags.
and it's actually pretty good, better than pretty good, and it's a high hurdle because adapting the manga is a bit of a trick because their relationship is ... hostile, kind of. there's some nuance there that could have got lost. fuck it even took the manga a bit to get there.

I recently picked up Taokaka in blazblue and I think she's a pretty awesome catgirl, but it got me thinking: who is the best catgirl in all of catgirldom? I figured I'd ask the experts!
