I'm definitely getting Cyberpunk 2077, because I am crazy for that stuff. Also, I have an enormous amount of residual love for the RPG.

I had only been tangentially aware of it, but I’ve been reading about it and it seems like it may really be something.

Also, I have fond memories of a campaign where a dude who normally plays a paladin complained about a lack of chivalry in the world. Without missing a beat our Corp looked over at him and said “That car company went out of business twenty years ago.”

combat is basically a vanillaware game (Odin Sphere, Muramasa). you get stronger by farming and you get better fertilizers and tools through fighting, so there's a nice feedback loop between the two.

Farming is pretty involved with lots of decisions at each stage of growth, like what type of fertilizer to use and when, how much water to use at each stage of growth, whether to aim for higher yield or higher quality, taking measures to prevent weed and disease damage. The part that makes it good is that each task is interactive in some way so it's not just picking things from a menu, and the main growing stage you actually manage the water by opening/closing gates to let water in/out which naturally gets absorbed over time or fills up when it rains, etc. It doesn't really tell you exactly what to do at each stage so there's a lot of experimenting. Eventually you get some hints about what to do at various times, but there are completely different steps to take if you want to maximize, say, rice aroma vs rice stickiness based on what stats you want to increase.

No sales at all. Apparently there’s scarcity on all that stuff.

only way you're gonna get a cheap ps4 is if you personally know someone who got a ps5 and is looking to get rid of their old console

It is good and I recommend it. The correct play is probably play it until it feels like a chore, then quit and move on with your life. I'm here to tell you that if you press on because you think you're close to the end, you are wrong.

Don't get me wrong I'm still kind of having fun but these later puzzles are torturous and there's soooo many.

I was really surprised it didn't stick with me at all. Puzzles were hard but I never felt smart for solving them. I barely made it into the second world or whatever. I think I did the whole first world and parts of 2 and 3 actually
wow, [you]. that all sounds terrible. i hope it gets better for you

I still think it's satisfying to solve the hard puzzles but I think this game has the unique problem that you don't always know that the stuff you're trying is in the domain of what you need to do, and all the levels are designed specifically so that they can only be solved in the intended way. You can be working a level for an hour not realizing the solution is something you weren't even considering or didn't know was mechanically possible.

I liked it a lot but I felt the later puzzles were too long and especially ones where you have to restart if you fail really annoyed me. Especially anything that involved MOVE.
Spoiler!
Figuring out how to continue after "beating" the game was really cool

Pro tip: if you're stuck in midgame, the solution is frequently to find a way to stack things onto the same tile. I got got at least 3 times by not considering that.
