Worth noting that the next gen version of the game isn’t even out yet. The PS5/XBSX version doesn’t even release until sometime next year.

Re: It's Videogames
I've been trying some goofy indie games in the hope of finding a hidden gem. Not much luck so far!
System Crash is a cyberpunk CCG (story mode only, no PVP) that I really wanted to be good, and it's just serviceable. It's very barebones, it's like Hearthstone except every creature autoattacks the creature in front of it. There's still a little bit of fun to be had because it does the Shandalar thing of giving you a shit deck to start with, then giving you random cards to slowly upgrade it over the campaign. And I love that!
Unfortunately, the gameplay lacks depth. It's also completely symmetrical, which is a dumb choice when it's PvE and you're a runner going up against corporations. Netrunner blows it out of the water in every respect except the Shandalar progression thing (which I have to stress is awesome).
Talisman Origins is a single-player board game. Talisman! It's kind of fun! At first. It quickly gets dumb and grindy and kinda unbalanced. You can make some interesting decisions, but ultimately that's not what matters, what matters is do you have the patience to keep grinding weak monsters to level up so your stats get high enough to challenge whatever the Big Bad is for the given scenario.
It's vaguely fun because the different scenarios all have different mechanics, but most of the mechanics don't change the optimal strategy, which is "keep grinding the easy locations until you get buff".

I kinda just want to be playing Genshin Impact again, but also I kinda don't.

Re: It's Videogames
talisman is like edh--the point isn't to be a good game, it's to take a long time so you can drink and talk with your friends
Re: It's Videogames
I haven't played "real" Talisman but yeah, I could see it being a fun party game. It's not complicated and there's just enough interactivity so you can mess with your friends but not completely screw them over. Unfortunately, Talisman Origins went all-in on being single player, and it's a pretty hollow experience, despite their efforts to improve it with various mechanics.
Re: It's Videogames
Just play Hades man! Just do it!
Re: It's Videogames
But it's only 20% off, that's barely a deal
Re: It's Videogames
I would say it's worth it at 60 bucks FWIW. I have paid that much for nintendo first party titles that had comparable graphics and I didn't enjoy as much
Re: It's Videogames
It's not about the price, it's about losing the management sim meta-game of "check out how cheap I got these games, I have a super fat Steam collection that I got for not a lot of dollars" If it was $60 but 70% off then I would have bought it already, because that's a deal! Unfortunately it's $20 but 20% off, which is cheaper but less of a deal. This MAKES SENSE TO ME.
But argh fine, I'll pull the trigger, everything tells me it's a good game that I'll like, and I could kind of use one of those

Re: It's Videogames
you can add non-steam games to steam, problem solved
Re: It's Videogames
the real tragedy is it was once only $7 and it will never be that low ever again, and you missed it
Re: It's Videogames
this would crush me but fortunately there are online historical price databases telling me that you're lying

Re: It's Videogames
It's objectively a great concept, but subjectively I didn't like it for as long as I thought I would.
