I was actively rooting for TLoU2 to win one of the performance awards, because Ashley Johnson and Laura Bailey are in Critical Role. And also they're excellent voice actors, so I'm glad Laura won.

yeah everybody likes laura bailey
Re: It's Video Game News
Laura's was the voice I used when I played Saints Row 4, because I thought it was funny to hear her tell cops to suck her dick.

Re: It's Video Game News
this is actually way past cool because it's a game streaming "service", so you can't actually access any of these files, so there's fuck all that a person can do to fix this. the future!

As opposed to say Blizzard's WC3 Reforged's bugs and lacking promised features, that, uhhStadia Developers Can't Fix the Bugs in their Own Game Because Google Fired Them
The Stadia angle actually seems irrelevant here to me?
Except that without it, there's probably no article, because obv it's okay to trash Google if Google's given up on gaming, right?

Re: It's Video Game News
the stadia angle is relevant because the game files sit on a server and not on your pc. this is a problem because, like, a buggy game that won't let you get past the start screen could be fixed, maybe, by searching then editing an ini file, or whatever, but you can't. there's no files. and yeah google is terrible so it's easy to take a shot on them but you also sort of want to take a shot at this new cool future medium. and hey here's a real problem. you have no ability to fix / edit a gameStarprintsky wrote: As opposed to say Blizzard's WC3 Reforged's bugs and lacking promised features, that, uhh

and re blizzard being one of the worst companies, you could make an interesting artcile, comment, about how blizzard's battle net launcher is going to refuck files and prevent players from fixing / doing things with reforged, and that this is a problem, and always having to have an offline old game that already exists connected to the internet so that its files can get refucked is a bad thing
but there was actually a more interesting story is in how blizzard used battle net to actually obliterate the actual, original, warcraft 3 game, which was, like, holy fuck

Re: It's Video Game News
That's true but as you went on to say about the battle.net launcher fucking things anyway, I feel like we just have little guarantee about any online-linked game anymore. I know part of that is just me being salty about the concept and old man about it because you're right that a lot of quick fixes can still be achieved by users, and an ex-developer can easily tweet out some stuff that took them 5 seconds despite not being paid to do it anymore.Shiny Days wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 11:28 pm the stadia angle is relevant because the game files sit on a server and not on your pc. this is a problem because, like, a buggy game that won't let you get past the start screen could be fixed, maybe, by searching then editing an ini file, or whatever, but you can't. there's no files. and yeah google is terrible so it's easy to take a shot on them but you also sort of want to take a shot at this new cool future medium. and hey here's a real problem. you have no ability to fix / edit a game
I stand by "these people who got fired aren't going to do their old job anymore" being a kinda dumb headline, though? Or like, saying they can't because of Stadia is creating a weird expectation that otherwise, they should have fixed the game for all those people for free?

I haven't seen the word "warez" in forever and when I brought it back in my mind decided it was pronounced like "juarez"
