I was actually thinking of the two 3rd level spells in D&D, but death of the author applies

If it's a format where you can often expect to spend four or five mana on your Fireball to kill two priority targets then Fireball's probably better there too.
Can we just "smooth past" the outliers?

Do you feel this has always been the case?
its been like that since i was on the scene
maybe not back when you could play unlimited channels or whatever lol
I mean, you could play 4th editions too :robert:

My opinion is that Fireball was better than bolt in Alpha, but now is not. So eye (I) (I) was thunking you (U) might have a personal "inflection point" where the quality of creatures made bolt better
i started playing in New Phrexia so its probably been like that always since ive played

but thats mostly an assessment of constructed and kingramz is right that in limited formats its highly contextual

Thinking about it some more I think that most of the time in limited Fireball is better, as long as we are talking about specifically Fireball and not Blaze. There are probably environments where Bolt would be better, but it would need to be a fast format that doesn't have many X/1s. ZZZ was bonkers fast but you probably could still get away with spending 4 mana to kill an opposing Surrakar Marauder and Plated Geopede. So I think limited formats where Bolt would be better are the outliers.

As far as Constructed goes, Fireball was probably better than Bolt in Alpha but probably hasn't been better than Bolt since like Mirage.

I used "poop from a butt" in an email to my wife to describe a bad thing, and now she uses that. I'm not sure if it's an original Juri-ism but there you go.

After a rigorous search, I have determined that the actual Juri-ism is "piss from an ass", so I was way off.

On the bright side, pfab is all me, baby, all rights reserved.

Fraxis still hasn't filled the narrative lead role for Civ 7.

If you want to play it with your pa, there's only one solution - https://boards.greenhouse.io/firaxis/jobs/4620451003

this position is probably for the marvel tactics game firaxis is contracted for or for XCOM 3, rather than for civ 7

god i hope it's xcom 3

civ4's legacy is in the hands of Soren Johnson and not firaxis now anyhow
