Dec. 16? Really? In the U.S. it's not until the 25th! Jeez

If it's any consolation, a lot of worldwide theaters will still be closed. New Zealand's going to be feeling pretty smug, though.

When the theaters around here opened for Tenet, the AMC was charging $15 a matinee, $18 standard

Ridiculous

I know a lot of people who are like, screw 'em

I wonder if Tenet is any good. I've heard no one talk about its content at all, which is weird what with it being like the highest-profile movie of the year and all.

I did shell out the $15 and it's good, it's a lot of fun, not quite as good as Inception but then some crazy visual stuff that I definitely want to watch over and over once I can own it

Definitely want to go to the theater, when they're not trying to rip me off, and I'm going to make it a point to go to the cinema grill the next time I'm in Orlando

Yeah there's some wild stuff

I'd say there are two kinds of wild stuff in Tenet, without spoiling anything

1) There's the obvious stuff like people moving backward in the same shot as other people moving forward, or even people moving backward interacting with people moving forward
2) There's the not-so-obvious stuff that I won't spoil, the fun ramifications of the technology that you don't think of at first

I love "Real Genius," but I want to point out that in real life, the prank that they play would in no way lead to the shutdown of the defense program

If you want to consider it a happy ending, be happy that at the end of the movie, Kent appears to love his fellow man now

I think it's more about comeuppance to a dick than enacting actual structural change.

I also love it, but the heroes are pretty holier-than-thou considering how lucky they are that their "superpowerful laser through the middle of campus" prank didn't kill anyone.

That hardly looks like a power cord that is going to supply power to a 5 MW laser

Bring on the kung-fu amputees - no arms vs. no legs anyone? A bit of high-speed underground ninja-tunneling is always good as well. I wanna see some shit like that. Crazy monks with gnarly special powers can make any film good. FACT.

I watched Brittney Runs a Marathon and it was not very good but what bothered me (other than the stupid way they handled the climax during the race) is that they said she ran a 3:50 which I'm quite sure would have been impossible for the person in the movie. However, they did show a picture of the woman the movie was based on in the credits, and that was definitely someone who could have ran a 3:50. The whole race really made me lose focus though since nothing was adding up.

Like, I wouldn't say it's very good, but it really made me feel something (the impact that her changes had on her relationships, and the way she attacked her friends for trying to help).

But they couldn't make that the whole movie, so we get a boring love plot, a boring race, and boring "self-improvement porn" (is she gonna stuff that muffin????)

So the HBO streaming app is going to be releasing big movies simultaneously with the theaters. I knew they were doing this for WW84 but they're doing it for all of 2021.
