I knew I wasn't gonna like Ghost of Tsushima but I got it anyway and it turns out I don't really care for it.

Yes, it's not bad, but it feels really generic to me.

It feels a lot like Witcher 3, but I already played Witcher 3 so the magic is gone. If there's not a ? on the map, you shouldn't waste your time going there. Half of the things to do is just "collect 80 flags", "visit 25 hot springs", etc. Combat is OK (it's better than Witcher, at least) and it's very stylish, but it's not very satisfying (ie struggling over adversity and challenge). Boss fights are decent but they're over quickly and are not challenging enough to take more than one or two tries on even on Hard.

I can see it appealing to a lot of people though, in the same way that Witcher and Assassin's Creed do. It's very similar.

This guy does a lot of really good in-depth character design breakdowns! I enjoyed this one because it reminded me of [you].

I played The Forest and that game has no right having anywhere near that high of a rating on Steam or that many reviews. If Outer Wilds is a 10 and Subnautica is an 8, The Forest is like a 5.

nine friends own this game, two friends want this game. it kind of looks like literally any other first person survival game?

Have you played it in VR? I did, briefly, and it seemed quite good! I never quite got back to it, survival horror isn't really my thing, but it's a pretty cool experience.

No, it is a good game for about 5 hours which is as long as it takes to craft everything in the game. Then you just slog through a bunch of caves for 10 hours slaughtering cannibals who take 15 attacks each to kill.

I am entirely invincible, you can hit me as many times as you want. Just not on this flashing red spot labeled WEAK POINT, that would be rude.

it's a on/off toggle for main games - haven't seen any practical result from it (next upgrade comes with the Medieval era), other than some leaders noting I have the signs of evil, & others giving a wet chuckle & a high five (as much as one can, with a pseudopod). The other secret societies I've bumped into were Hermeticism & something about Owls.

That's not true - my Monuments changed into Old Gods-flavoured (spicy!) obelisks, +4 faith & a slot for any great work.

Oh thank goodness, I thought Mario was hitting a swan with a mallet, but thankfully it was just a toad.

One thing I really appreciate about Paper Mario is that the controls are extremely simple, so you can not play for a few days and still be proficient when you pick it back up. I've never really gotten into Breath of the Wild, and part of the reason is that it's got a full suite of controls to remember, so if it's been a couple of weeks I might as well never have played it at all. And Breath of the Wild at least has an easily accessible screen that tells you what everything is! Trying to pick back up Witcher 3 or Final Fantasy XV is ridiculous if you played for a few days and then got distracted for a week.

The narrator has a great way of raising obvious questions and ignoring them

"Juri will do anything to achieve her FASCINATING GOALS. Now onto her hair"

Um, ok, wanna tell me what those goals are?
