meta is doing text to video https://makeavideo.studio/
i don't think it's usable by the public yet though. the signup sheet for it uses google docs which i found hilarious
like 2 days after that announcement another paper+site came out about text to video https://phenaki.video/
this shit is going crazy fast

Re: generated art
this thing's got a dropdown for the same prompt but in the style of a zillion different artists
https://gorgeous.adityashankar.xyz/
i recommend selecting "bob ross" because it is absolutely not in the style of bob ross and instead looks like bob ross

Pretty stunning images imo. Also a pretty good object lesson on how best to format prompts for AI image generators

Re: generated art
is this the thread to argue about whether ai generated content is truly art? whether only humans can create "art" by definition? whether an ai is a tool of such a nature that it cannot be said to truly be of the "artists" hand anymore?

I hope so because if not then that would be a different thread

Re: generated art
Sure!
This one's easy, it depends on how you define it. For example, if you define art as "something humans do", then AI definitely won't be able to create art!whether only humans can create "art" by definition?
Anything can be said. This is because of the First Amendment.whether an ai is a tool of such a nature that it cannot be said to truly be of the "artists" hand anymore?

Re: generated art
Using the definition "art must be created by humans", which of the following counts as art:
- a painting by a human with a robotic arm
- a painting by a human in a mech suit
- a painting by a robot that's controlled by a human brain mounted inside of it
- a painting from a human/robot collaboration
- a painting from a human/robot collaboration where the robot did most of the work
- a sexy painting of a robot which is purportedly by a human but you're pretty sure a robot did it?

is the human controlling the robotic arm or is the robotic arm controlling the humanmindwarped wrote:a painting by a human with a robotic arm
Re: generated art
maaan youre always arguing the first amendment, ashenai. youre not allowed to do that here. canada doesnt have a first amendment and arti is canadian.

Re: generated art
I am allowed to do that here, actually. This is because of the First Amendment.
Re: generated art
i feel like this question is sort of analogous to the issue of is the art andy warhol's or person in andy warhol's factory who actually made the thing. or the first layer of the question at least.
